What's Different Between League of Legends: Wild Rift and Its PC Version?

Rate this Article League of Legends: Wild Rift is the mobile-based variant of the iconic MOBA that’s been making waves since it surfaced and, in this article, we’ll be talking about the things that set these two games apart. MMO Square - What's Different Between League of Legends: Wild Rift and Its PC Version?

League of Legends: Wild Rift is a game that’s been in the making for a long time. There’s been a lot of hype surrounding this mobile variant of the insanely popular MOBA and, up until now, it has certainly lived up to most of the hype. Although the game has been given a step-by-step launch across various places across the globe instead of a full-fledged singular global launch, it’s been received extremely well by anyone who’s tried it out.

However, although the fundamentals of League of Legends: Wild Rift are the same as those of the PC version of League of Legends, there’s quite a lot that makes both these games feel distinct from one another and that’s exactly what we’re here to cover.

First and foremost, one of the most significant differences is, of course, the control scheme. Playing a MOBA requires a high level of control and this is fairly easy to provide via a keyboard mouse which is how the PC version of League of Legends is played. However, since League of Legends: Wild Rift is a mobile-based game, the same level of control has to be implemented on the touch screen which is no small challenge but this game pulls it off with perfection.

Overall, the controls are extremely well designed so casting spells, executing intricate combos on champions like Lee Sin and doing pretty much any other tasks feels extremely smooth and intuitive. Although both control schemes are vastly different, they’re all executed very well in their own way and will provide you with complete and total control over your champion and the game.

The optimization of League of Legends: Wld Rift is also a major difference between both variants. The PC version of League of Legends is certainly a delight to play, over the years, it’s certainly had some optimization issues that have held players with low-end hardware back from enjoying the game at its absolute best. Wild Rift, on the other hand, is a game that’s been built from the ground up with quite a lot of emphasis on optimization which is why it’s a game that plays incredibly smoothly, even on phones that have relatively older phones. In spite of this, though, it still looks absolutely spectacular.

Perhaps one of the most significant differences between League of Legends: Wild Rift and the traditional PC-based League of Legends is the fact that Wild Rift is a much faster paced game. The map itself, while it retains the same core design, is smaller as a whole and the pace of the games themselves is much quicker. Due to these and several other factors, a game that would take 30 minutes in League of Legends on PC will actually end up taking no more than 15 minutes on Wild Rift. This is certainly a good change, though, because those playing on mobile phones generally tend to expect a more fast-paced experience that requires less of a time commitment.

Overall, the aforementioned differences are the key things that set League of Legends: Wild Rift apart from the original PC release of the game. All said and done, though, they’re both great experiences and we certainly urge players to check either variant out if they get the chance.
