World of Warships: Blitz vs World of Warships: What’s the Difference?

Rate this Article Both World of Warships: Blitz and the original World of Warships are truly exceptional games with massive playerbases and, in this article, we’ll be highlighting what sets them apart. MMO Square - World of Warships: Blitz vs World of Warships: What’s the Difference?

For those who are entirely unaware regarding the specifics of these two games, World of Warships is the original which debuted on PC back in 2015 whereas World of Warships: Blitz is the mobile based that surfaced later on in 2018 when smartphone gaming became truly massive and mainstream. Both these games are truly exceptional and, while they have the same fundamental idea at heart which, of course, is to provide players with an authentic ship battling experience, there are several things that set the two apart from one another and these things are exactly what we’re here to highlight in this article.

Perhaps one of the most significant differences between the two games is the scale of the maps and the pacing of the matches themselves. World of Warships is a game that’s been designed for intense ship on ship combat that takes place over large maps but, on the other hand, World of Warships: Blitz has been designed with a faster paced experience in mind considering the fact that players on the mobile platform tend to enjoy shorter gaming sessions. Due to all this, World of Warships: Blitz has maps that are up to four times smaller than those of the original World of Warships and these smaller maps lead to denser battlefields and shorter matches as well that conclude fairly quickly but are thoroughly intense from start to finish.

The control scheme is also something that varies tremendously with both variants of this game. In the original World of Warships, you’ll get a full-fledged control scheme that, once mastered, enables players to control their vessels exactly according to their liking and preferences while also having control over several game settings but, on the other hand, the mobile version of the game has a much more streamlined control scheme that doesn’t give the same level of control as the original control scheme does but is significantly easier to get the hang of. Both types of control schemes have their advantages and disadvantages and they’re each perfectly suited for their respective platform.

One thing that you’ll definitely notice, especially if you switch over from the original World of Warships to the mobile based Blitz variant is the fact that the visuals do take a bit of a hit. Of course, this is to be expected considering the fact that smartphones don’t have the same level hardware that gaming PCs do but, nonetheless, Blitz doesn’t look bad by any means. As far as mobile based games are concerned, World of Warships: Blitz is actually among the best looking games out there as it features some highly realistic looking ships as well as detailed maps but, when compared to the original PC variant, Blitz does tend to fall behind a bit.

Overall, while there are several other subtle differences between the two World of Warships variants, the aforementioned differences are among the most significant ones. While we’re on the subject, we want to highlight that both World of Warships and World of Warships: Blitz are truly exceptional games and we highly recommend checking any of them out if you get the chance.
