Pokémon Go is no doubt one of the hottest mobile game releases of recent day but there are still a few things that hold the game back from being truly perfect, the primary issue being the fact that it isn’t really new player friendly at all. When new players start off they aren’t properly informed regarding the basics of the game which is why they end up making quite a lot of mistakes. In this article we’ll be highlighting these mistakes so you can avoid them when playing.

1: Not Catching All The Pokémon

So many people make the mistake of skipping Pokémon that pop up for them in the wild because they’ve already captured them before. This might be the right thing to do in traditional games but this is actually a mistake in Pokémon Go. In Pokémon Go you’re given experience points for every single capture that you make and you’re also given candies that you can use to evolve said Pokémon which is why you should never skip out on any Pokémon that you encounter.

2: Inefficiently Using Pokéstops

It’s rather surprising that most people still don’t know this but one of the most important things that you need to know about Pokémon Go is that the Pokéstops actually refresh after every five minutes. Due to this, you can find a good spot that’s in range of multiple stops and then sit there to farm balls and eggs for as long as you want to without needing to walk around town in search for more stops.

3: Wasting Balls

Are you tired of that annoying Zubat dodging each and every Pokéball that you throw at it? Well it’s probably because you’re not throwing them right. When you hold down a ball you’ll actually see two circles appear on the target Pokémon. You should throw your ball when both these circles overlap each other because it will increase the overall radius at which your ball can connect with the Pokémon you’ve encountered. Once you master this technique you’ll waste much less balls when you’re out trying to be the very best.

4: Using only one Razz Berry per Pokémon

Although not many players have realized it yet, you’re actually allowed to throw multiple Razz Berries at Pokémon when you’re trying to capture them. In order to use multiple berries, all you have to do is throw a berry after each Pokéball throw. You can pretty much repeat this process as long as you have berries or until you catch the Pokémon of interest.

5: Driving in order to hatch an egg

Many players think that they can speed-up the incubation process by opening up the Pokémon Go application and then driving around town. However, the game specifically requires players to walk in order to hatch the eggs so it’ll detect when you’re moving at high speeds and won’t count the distance that you cover at said speeds. Unless you want to drive your car at an incredibly slow pace, you’ll have to manually walk your eggs around town if you want them to hatch.

All said and done, we hope that you’ll keep the aforementioned things in mind the next time you play Pokémon Go because you’ll definitely play better if you do so.
