In Atelier Online, as the protagonist bearing the hope of the future, you are the star student who was raised at the Royal Academy and now wishes to be a full-fledged alchemist. In the academy, you made friends with Sorrel and Anise, who are an apprentice mage and an apprentice sage, respectively. They join you early in the storyline, and you can take them into combat by adding them to your party. Atelier is an alchemy-themed RPG that focuses heavily on alchemy, so synthesizing materials is vital in the game. You can gather the materials needed for alchemy from the field. Occasionally, you have to fight monsters to get rare materials. However, some materials will only appear at a certain time of day in the game world. There are three types of alchemy categories, namely item, equipment, and cuisine. You can synthesize both usable items and quest items as long as you have the required recipe. You can obtain equipment such as weapons and armors by completing quests, or you can choose to craft your own gears. The cuisine in Atelier online is different from most of the Atelier series.
