MSHS is different than other role playing games. Instead of a huge world to explore, the game world consists of four areas you can investigate in order to find money and special hero tokens, as well as clearing the area from the little critters that can be found for some extra experience. The areas are highly interactive and roaming them is rather enjoyable as you can find amusing secrets and small games. If your current hero can fly, there are even fly points for fast travel.
MSHS is based on missions and plenty of mini games you can spend hours in. Missions are a great way to get experience and money for your heroes. There are many missions you can play, but many of them are locked until you purchase them, although every day there is a different daily mission you can play for free. The missions are pretty fun and feature familiar enemies from the Marvel universe such as Doctor Doom and Magneto. You can even pair with other players which is a nice way to see other heroes in action and finish a mission quickly if you want to do another with a different hero.
Other than missions, you can spend your time playing various mini games such as whack a mole to gain some extra money, or try your hand in a pretty cool card game which works like other trading card games where you can purchase boosters and build different decks to counter your opponent’s deck. The card game is different than the other mini games as there are special quests involved that will unlock unique cards and can be quite challenging. The card game is one of the best features in MSHS, it’s fun and addictive, the mechanics are sound and with the fantastic animation it makes for a great way to pass the time.
Your heroes need a place to stay, and the HQ is just the place. You can buy furniture and special items and see how your heroes interact with each other, with amusing results.
