Westland Survive lets you take on the challenge of surviving as a cowboy a land with no rules. Take on the challenge of surviving in this western themed MMORPG. And explore the life of a Lone Star Ranger and fight robbers, trade with American natives, set traps and duel in a Mexican Standoff.
Your wagon convoy was ambushed by a bunch of bandits, leaving you the only survivor. You are now driven by nothing else than revenge. But you need to focus on crafting a few things first if you want to survive long enough to lay vengeance against those bandits.
You start off with nothing and you have to scavenge for food and supplies to survive. There are a couple of twigs, wood and rocks that you can gather around you. And from there, you can head out to your crafting menu to build a couple of tools to mine boulders for rocks and chop down trees to get more wood.
There’s a lot crafting to do but you need to gain a couple of levels in order to gain access to more options. You earn experience by gathering and attacking enemies such as coyotes, wolves and bandits that come to your camp from time to time. If you clear out your camp, then it might be time to explore different areas.
You need to level up a few times to unlock crafting options and earn crafting points. You have to spend these crafting points wisely so you have to focus on the essentials first. You have to build a bonfire to cook food and enhance their properties. Cooked meat and other food that are combined are much more effective so be sure to cook your food before consumption.
The shoulder bag adds 5 slots to your inventory. The Garden Bed lets you plant seeds that grow into various crops. The foundry and carpenter table let you refine metal and wood. And once you get these essentials, you should craft walls and floors around your camp as an added precaution against invaders.
Aside from watching your health, you also need to keep an eye on your hunger and thirst gauge. There are a couple of things that you can pick up while you work on your base. You can gather cactus fruits to quench your thirst or you can also loot some boxes to scavenge for water containers.
There are random events that may occur in the world map. You have to be on the lookout for crashed caravans that have lots of loot and you may also see trader events if you have the Dovecote built. And make sure to check the difficulty level of each area to make sure that you do not bite off more than you can chew.
Overall, the game can get quite addicting. It gives you total freedom on how you want your adventure to go. You can spend countless hours building up your base and gathering materials can be done automatically by pressing the auto button. But it is still recommended to control your character manually so you can dodge attacks or run away if you can’t take the enemies.
