Aside from training warriors, you can also recruit captains that will give you city special skills in offense and defense. Captains are also responsible for exploring Crypts, which constitute the game’s dungeons. Captains will bring back loot from the Crypts, which are usually pieces of equipment that you can adorn yourself, as the emperor, with. This can help enhance the capabilities of your city as well.
In the world map, you can attack other cities as well as monsters that are in the map like Ogres and the Undead, among others. Of course, you could also attack other players’ cities in Player vs Player combat.
Choosing to attack monsters or cities will send your troops marching towards the objective. How fast they get there depends on how far or how near the target is to your city. You can leave your troops to march and attack while you tend to your city; the results of the attack will be sent to you via your journal.
Players can also form alliances with one another. Alliances will help in speeding up construction projects, as allies can help out to shorten the time necessary to complete the building. When the time remaining is less than 5 minutes, you can speed it up for free.
Once your tutorial ends, you still have a set of quests left to you by your Imperial assistant to guide you as to what you need to do. These quests will reward you with resources, in-game cash and experience points.
